Commercial Freshwater Fishing

Commercial fishing is a valued industry in Manitoba. For over 100 years, Manitobans have been commercially harvesting fish. With over 100,000 lakes that cover approximately 17% of its surface area Manitoba has plenty of fish habitat.

The majority of commercial fish production comes from Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba however numerous other smaller lakes are also fished.
